Isaac Pyatt is a composer and percussionist studying at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he works with composers Alejandro Rutty and Mark Engebretson and percussionists Eric Willie and John Beck. His compositions, influenced by a wide range of styles from Baroque to pop/rock, have been featured in student concerts and solo recitals. As an active percussionist, Isaac performs in various UNCG ensembles—including at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention—and gives solo recitals, while also teaching with the Ledford High School Marching Band. He won the North Carolina PAS University Soloist Competition in 2016 and 2017 and the 2017 UNCG Student Artist Competition. His background includes attendance at North Carolina Governor’s School, the Leigh Howard Stevens Marimba Seminar, and the Brevard Music Center, and he is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
