An Incomplete History
Where did the name
Black Swamp
come from?
The Origin Story
Black Swamp Percussion was founded in Bowling Green, Ohio, an area known as ‘The Great Black Swamp.’ While the name began as a fun nod to our roots (and a way to avoid the frequent mispronunciation of my last name, ‘Sooy’), it has since become synonymous with quality percussion instruments worldwide.
