Will Alderman (b. 1990) is Assistant Professor of Percussion at Eastern Michigan University and a versatile performer, composer, and educator. He has previously taught at institutions including Northwest Missouri State, Bridgewater College, and James Madison University. A founding member of the quartet Without Borders, Will has toured internationally and premiered several new works, including his own compositions. He’s performed with renowned artists such as Gordon Stout and Valerie Naranjo and won top honors at the NABBA and Great Plains Marimba competitions. In addition to his classical work, Will has performed and released music with the rock band Capt. Cat and the folk duo The 42nd Parallel. He is an active arranger for marching ensembles across the U.S. and recently published Etudes for Marimba: Four New Works for the Advancing Marimbist. Will holds a D.M.A. from James Madison University, an M.M. from Ithaca College, and a B.M. from Western Michigan University.
