Dr. Sigurd Johnson is an accomplished music educator, conductor, and percussionist, serving as Associate Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Activities and Percussion Studies at North Dakota State University. With a career spanning roles in band and percussion leadership across multiple institutions, including over a decade directing NDSU’s Gold Star Marching Band, he brings deep experience to both performance and education. A former member of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and active clinician throughout the Midwest, Dr. Johnson is also closely involved with the International Music Camp and various music education organizations. He is an artist with Yamaha, Sabian, Evans, Vic Firth, and Black Swamp Percussion.
