Sebastian Buhts is a percussionist and conductor based in St. Louis, MO, serving as Assistant Professor of Music at Lindenwood University, where he directs the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Marching Band, Pep Band, Percussion Ensemble, and coordinates the instrumental music program. He also teaches conducting and percussion, and is a lecturer in North Indian tabla drumming at Washington University in St. Louis. An active performer, Sebastian has appeared with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and conducted the St. Charles County Symphony Orchestra. A specialist in North Indian tabla, he has performed and lectured extensively, including a featured solo at the 2022 St. Louis Literary Award ceremony. Sebastian earned his DMA from Michigan State University and holds degrees from Belmont University, with additional study in Germany and at Aspen. He endorses Marimba One and Black Swamp Percussion.
