Robert Clayson is a Lecturer of Music at Troy University, where he teaches private lessons, music theory, and instructs the "Sound of the South" marching percussion section. An award-winning percussionist, he has earned first-place honors in the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) Marching Festival's individual keyboard competition and the Indiana Day of Percussion's solo marimba competition. As an active performer, Mr. Clayson plays with several regional orchestras, including the LaGrange Symphony and the Northwest Florida Symphony, and was a member of the Troy University Percussion Ensemble that won the 2012 PAS International Percussion Ensemble Competition. He holds a Master's degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor's from Troy University, and is a published composer with works available through C-Alan Publications, Tapspace, and others.
