N. Scott Robinson is a highly accomplished percussionist, jazz drummer, and performer-scholar who contributed to the Grammy Award-winning CD Harlem Renaissance with the Benny Carter Big Band. His distinguished career is marked by an extraordinary breadth of collaboration, having performed and recorded with a vast and diverse array of leading artists across genres including jazz, world music, Western classical, and folk. As a dedicated educator and scholar, Dr. Robinson holds a Ph.D. in Musicology-Ethnomusicology from Kent State University and serves as a tenured Professor and Chair of the Music Department at San Diego Mesa College, where he teaches and directs the World Music Ensemble. A prolific international artist and clinician who has presented at numerous Percussive Arts Society (PAS) events, he has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, toured across the globe, and is a published composer and author with an extensive discography. Currently active in the San Diego music scene, he performs with numerous orchestras and bands and is supported by a wide range of endorsements from leading percussion companies.
