As Director of Percussion Studies at Kent State University, Dr. Matthew Holm has revitalized the percussion program in all facets since his appointment in 2017. Described as "performing with unerring security" by Cleveland Classical, he is an active orchestral musician who has performed with the Columbus, Phoenix, and West Virginia Symphonies. Under his direction, the KSU Percussion Ensemble has been selected to perform multiple times at the Ohio Music Education Association conference and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). A veteran of the marching arts, Dr. Holm is a three-time world champion with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and was the percussion coordinator for the 2023 SoundSport Champion Rhythm IN Blue. He has released two albums of his work, Auditory Illusions for Electronic Percussion and Ambient Scenes, and is an endorsed artist for Marimba One and Innovative Percussion.
