A dedicated advocate for new music, Dr. Logan Ball has been involved in commissioning numerous works and recently performed with the prestigious Bang on a Can All-Stars at the Big Ears Festival on the U.S. premiere of Michael Gordon's Big Space. This passion for contemporary works is also reflected in his role on the Percussive Arts Society’s New Music / Research Committee. Dr. Ball serves as Senior Lecturer and Marching Percussion Director at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where he co-directs the percussion ensemble and teaches a variety of percussion courses. As a founding member of the contemporary quartet Odd River and an accomplished arranger, his work has been featured at various festivals and at the PASIC Marching Percussion Festival. Dr. Ball holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and is proudly supported by Innovative Percussion, Black Swamp Percussion, and Pearl/Adams.
