Dr. Kenneth Piascik began his journey in 1983 when Joe Mekler encouraged him to attend William Paterson University, under the tutelage of Ray Des Roches, and perform with the New Jersey Percussion Ensemble. When Kenneth returned to the university to begin his graduate work, he experienced the joy and power of teaching and decided to complete his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Dedicated to performing new music of the 20th and 21st centuries, Kenneth has performed and toured with top performing groups throughout the United States. Kenneth has also been featured on television, National Public Radio, and has recorded on many labels. In addition, Kenneth is deeply committed to music education. Kenneth has taught at several leading music universities, public school, and is also proud of his private studio, AmusiK Studio (est. 1991) where many of his students are professional performers and educators.
Besides spending time with his family and playing his drums, Kenneth is currently providing clinics on percussion, education, and leadership. He is honored to be an active part of educating our future musicians and leaders.
