Dr. Justin Lamb is an active performer, educator, composer, and arranger based in metro Detroit, serving as Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Percussion Area Coordinator at Oakland University. He holds MM and DMA degrees from the Eastman School of Music, where he earned the Performer’s Certificate, Milton Schlesinger Percussion Prize, and Arts Leadership Certificate, and a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University. His primary teachers include Michael Burritt, James Ross, and Dr. Omar Carmenates. Deeply committed to contemporary music, Justin has premiered and commissioned numerous works by leading composers and performed nationally and internationally, including at PASIC 2024. He also serves as Principal Percussionist of the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and remains active in the marching arts as a former member of Carolina Crown and current clinician, arranger, and adjudicator.
