Based in Maryland, Jeremy Maytum is a versatile percussionist and educator who serves as the Coordinator of Marching Percussion for the University of Maryland, where he is the writer, arranger, and head instructor for the UMDrumline. An active orchestral musician, he has performed with the Colorado Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and served as Principal Timpanist for the Prague Summer Nights Music Festival. In the marching arts, he is currently on the percussion staff for The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps and is a former performing member of the Blue Knights. Mr. Maytum performs regularly as timpanist with the Maryland Winds, tours nationwide with his chamber group BlueSHIFT Percussion Quartet, and is pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Kentucky. A dedicated contributor to the Percussive Arts Society, he serves on the Marching/Rudimental Committee and as Secretary for the Maryland/Delaware Chapter, and is an endorsed artist for Yamaha, Innovative Percussion, Remo, and Sabian.
