Based in Vancouver, American percussionist Jade Hails is a dynamic performer and educator known for combining theatrics and technical skill to bridge the gap between artistic disciplines. He serves as a faculty member at Lane Community College and various private music schools, where he teaches percussion technique, performance, and entrepreneurship. Committed to interdisciplinary work, Hails curates collaborations based on poetry, visual art, and dance, most notably through his group Pas de Duo, formed with Italian pianist Letizia Pent to create music for dance performers. A former member of the Left Edge Percussion ensemble, he is a passionate commissioner of new works and a dedicated creative collaborator. Hails holds a Master of Music degree from Southern Oregon University, where he studied with Dr. Terry Longshore, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Oregon State University.
