Danish percussionist Henrik Knarborg Larsen is an accomplished international soloist and chamber musician who serves as the Head of Percussion at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg. In addition to his teaching, he holds the percussion chair with the acclaimed Århus Sinfonietta, Denmark’s oldest contemporary music ensemble. He has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the USA, and his work includes the solo theatrical show 'Les sons de l’art' and several recordings, such as the solo CD 'Convergence' and 'Burst' on the Dacapo Records label. As an educator, Larsen has reshaped the percussion curriculum at the Royal Academy based on modern principles of interpretation theory and practice strategy, a methodology he presented at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
