Glenn Schaft, DMA, is Professor of Music and Director of Drumset and Percussion Studies at Youngstown State University, where he oversees percussion curriculum and ensembles. A versatile percussionist and educator, he earned degrees from the University of Illinois, Eastern Illinois University, and Baldwin-Wallace College, and completed post-doctoral studies including at Berklee College of Music and in Havana, Cuba. Glenn is an active performer with diverse credits spanning orchestras, jazz ensembles, world percussion groups, and collaborations with notable artists. He serves as an endorser for Zildjian, Vic Firth, Remo, and is an educational consultant with Black Swamp Percussion. A longstanding member of the Percussive Arts Society, he has contributed extensively through committee work, presentations, and performances at national and international events. Glenn has taught at multiple universities, presented masterclasses nationwide, and continues to adjudicate and teach at music camps. He lives in Poland, Ohio with his wife and twins.
