Dr. Francisco Perez is a percussionist, composer, and educator who serves as the Instructional Associate Professor of Percussion Performance at Texas A&M University. An active international performer, he has toured throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia, holds the Principal Timpani chair with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, and is a founding member of the BlueSHIFT Percussion Quartet. As a composer, his works have been performed at The Midwest Clinic and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), with commissions from numerous universities and publications by Tapspace and C. Alan Publications. In the marching arts, Francisco was a member of The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, contributing to their 2011 Fred Sanford Award-winning percussion section. He holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Kentucky and proudly endorses Marimba One, Innovative Percussion, Black Swamp Percussion, and the Zildjian Company.
