Based at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Dr. Bill Sallak is a multifaceted percussionist and educator who serves as an Assistant Professor of Music, teaching applied percussion and recording technology. A dedicated performer of experimental music, he is a member of the Akros Percussion Collective and works as a composer and sound designer for the interactive environment, Theatre Engine: Flashmob. Dr. Sallak is also an accomplished audio engineer and music technologist, having worked at KBAQ-FM and the Interlochen Center for the Arts with artists such as Joshua Bell and the Pacifica String Quartet. An independent scholar with diverse research interests from the music of Stuart Saunders Smith to Bach performance on marimba, he serves on the Percussive Arts Society New Music/Research Committee. Dr. Sallak holds degrees from SUNY-Fredonia, The University of Akron, and Arizona State University, and is an endorsed artist for Vic Firth, Zildjian, and Remo, among others.
