Austin Shoupe is a percussionist and educator based in the Quad State region of Kentucky, currently serving as Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Tennessee – Martin. At UTM, he teaches applied lessons, percussion ensemble, and percussion methods, and directs both the Aviator Marching Band drumline and the Roots of Rhythm world percussion program. He has previously held positions as Director of Instrumental Music at Thomas Jefferson High School (IL), Percussion Director for the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, and instructor for various high school programs. Shoupe has performed with ensembles such as the Jackson and Paducah Symphony Orchestras, and studied at the University of Kentucky, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Southern Maine under teachers including James B. Campbell and Greg Beyer.
