Based in the Chicago area, Dr. Andrew Veit is an active freelance musician, composer, and educator. He serves as the Marching Percussion Coordinator at North Central College, works with the Marion Catholic High School percussion program, and is the Co-Associate Director of the Heartland Marimba organization. A dedicated proponent of new music, Dr. Veit is a founding member of the Heartland Marimba Quartet, which has premiered concertos and performed at events like the Society of Composers Inc. National Conference. He has also personally commissioned and premiered several new solo percussion works from composers such as Caleb Pickering and Jennifer Bellor. Dr. Veit has presented clinics and performed at prestigious events including the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) and has adjudicated internationally in Hong Kong. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Iowa and is an artist and clinician for Innovative Percussion, Marimba One, and Beetle Percussion.
