Black Swamp Percussion provides the best quality of its kind in the industry worldwide. I have used and seen many products during my many world tours but nothing beats the sound and quality of BSP's! Everybody I have spoken to or worked with at BSP have been wonderful. The people makes the company, and the people at BSP makes the company great to phenomenal. Human touch!
Artist Q&A
What is the oldest BSP instrument you own? What was your first?
Tambourine. close to 20 years old. TD1. STILL with its original calf head. I love her
What does your typical practice routine look like? Do you have a favorite place to practice?
MY PINK ROOM. Morning practice = learning new notes. Afternoon practice = repetition. I put on music and podcast at the background.
What is your favorite practice technique? Anything creative or out of the ordinary?
Pomodoro technique (Google it). Pop songs at the background or as metronome for warming up, or learning certain licks (check IG). I sing everything I play, and create a aural-visual connection that way rather than solely relying on muscle memory, really helps to learn thing SOLID and those notes will be ingrained in my brains and hands...really helps with touring.
What is your favorite performance memory?
Anytime where audience members come to me after the show saying they are so glad for showing them they can be themselves and embracing who they are because of my performance.
What inspires your creativity?
What's going on around the world, and how we can address those issues with the tools we get.
