FAQs

My tambourine head is loose! Why?

Don’t worry! This is normal. Tambourine heads take and release moisture from the air and fluctuate in tension based on temperature and humidity. High humidity will loosen your head and low humidity will tighten your head.

If you own a Black Swamp calf head tambourine, take extra steps to make sure your tambourine is not left in extreme climates of high or low temperatures and humidity. Storing your tambourine in the provided case is ideal and will help maintain a consistent tension when your tambourine is not in use.

If you own a Black Swamp synthetic head tambourine you will likely not experience any fluctuation in tension. However, if your tambourine head loses tension, allow the tambourine to adjust to the temperature and environment. This can take even a few days in extreme cases.

Still no luck? Contact us directly via our warranty form.

Can I replace my calf head with a synthetic head? Or vice versa?

Not at this time. Currently, our calf and synthetic head tambourines are manufactured with different mounting processes that do not allow us to swap between head materials.
