Andy Jones is the original percussionist for the Broadway production of Stephen Schwartz's Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre (Grammy Award - Best Musical Show Album, RIAA Certified PLATINUM Record). Most recently he composed a two percussion score for Execution of Justice at About Face Theatre in Chicago. At the Goodman Theatre, Andy has performed The House of Martin Guerre, A Little Night Music, and the Studio production
of Wings as well as its subsequent production at the Joseph Papp Public Theater. He worked on Yale Repertory Theatre's Pre-Broadway workshop of Triumph of Love. Andy wrote the percussion score to the ASCAP award winning musical 90 North, and performed for it's staged readings at the Berkshire Theatre Festival and The Kennedy Center. Andy was the recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Award for the original music he composed for Blade to the Heat at the Apple Tree Theatre. Andy also composed
a solo-percussion score for Chicago Shakespeare Theater's recurring production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Andy's National Tours include Into The Woods, CATS, and the Celebrity AIDS benefit, Heartstrings. His European Tours include Chicago, Cabaret, and On The Town. Other Chicago credits include Evelyn and The Polka King, Assassins, Company, Putting it Together, and Sunday in the Park with George. Andy arranged and music directed the World Premiere Rock Opera God and Country at
Victory Gardens and co-music directed The Flower Thieves with The Midnight Circus. He served as assistant music director and percussionist for Chicago Shakespeare's production of Pacific Overtures and traveled to London this for it's remounting at the Donmar Warehouse.
Andy uses Bosphorus cymbals and Mike Balter mallets and instruments and accessories from Black Swamp Percussion & PTECH (percussion technologies).
